Elise Boyan for SD25 Bexar Co Obama Delegate

I first met Barack Obama in the late 80’s when we were students at Harvard Law School and members of the Black Law Students Association. It would be a stretch to say that back then I could have guessed that he’d now be the front-runner for the presidency of the United States, but from early on I could tell I was in the presence of an amazing individual.

When Barack announced that he was running for President (and I was finally able to get over my envy), I decided to throw myself fully behind his campaign. With the help of my husband, Craig, and Frank Burney, I helped plan and then hosted one of the first Texas fundraisers for his campaign at my home in San Antonio last June. Since then, I have worn the two hats of community organizer and as a member of his Texas/Oklahoma finance . I am a busy wife and mother of three, but Barack’s appeal to our mutual respect of “the fierce urgency of now” has compelled me to sacrifice my precious family and personal time to do everything within my power to ensure his victory in November.
